OTA holds 5th monthly junior tennis tourney

MUSCAT: The 5th Monthly Junior Tennis Tournament organised by the Oman Tennis Association (OTA) was held from October 25-27 at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bausher.
This event held as part of the OTA Development Programme for juniors to enhance the growth of tennis in the Sultanate. The Oman Tennis Association main focus is on the development of the Under-7 Mixed Mini Tennis for 5-7 years old who play regularly in the competition. More than 80 junior boys and girls including Omani and Expatriates had participated in the Under-7 Mixed Mini Tennis, Under-10, Under-12, Under-14, Under-18 categories with the top two player from each category being awarded by the guests of honour OTA Chairman Khalid Ali Saif Al Adi and OTA Executive Manager Salman Abdulrahim Al Balushi.
The final of the U-18 Boys played between Marwan Faiz Al Khanjari and Shlok Ail was held before the prize distribution.
The Oman Tennis Association thanked the sponsors Pocari Sweat, parents and the players, they even thanked SQSC staff and OTA staff for all the support towards the tournament.
Results: Under-7 Mixed Mini Tennis: Vedant Mohan beat Advay Kapoor 10-6, 10-4; 3rd Place Ben Coxon; 4th Place Areen Hafidh Al Azkawi.
Under-10 Girls: Aisha Essam Al Busaidi beat Rita Malakhova 8-10, 10-4, 7-4; 3rd Place Rahma Said Al Busaidi; 4th Place Eman Ehab Ibrahim.
Under-10 Boys: Charlie Sennhauser beat Vedant Mohan10-5, 10-6; 3rd Place Ahmed Ehab Ibrahim; 4th Place Ritish Pranav.
Under-12 Boys: Isa Ali Al Suleimani beat Charlie Sennhauser 7-6, 6-3.
Under-12 Girls: Kira Malakhova beat Aisha Essam Al Busaidi 6-1, 6-1.
Under-14 Boys: Noah Sennhauser beat Subodh Anchar 6-4, 6-1.
Under-14 Girls: Kira Malakhova beat Safanah Nayel Al Riyami 6-3, 6-4.
Under-18 Boys: Marwan Faiz Al Khanjari beat Shlok Ail 4-6, 6-2, 7-3.
