More than 600 illegal expat workers deported last week

Muscat: A total of 601 expatriate workers were deported by the Ministry of Manpower, with another 382 arrested.
The Ministry of Manpower's weekly statistics showed that 601 expatriate workers were deported for violating the Labour Law.
The weekly report of the joint inspection team at the Ministry of Manpower pointed out that the number of workers arrested from October 21 to October 27 stood at 382. Muscat witnessed the largest number of workers violating the law with 142, while the governorate of North Batinah saw 69 illegal workers being arrested.
Competent authorities at the Ministry of Manpower are taking the legal action against them.
