Cricket: Prajapati shines in PTI win against Muscat CT

MUSCAT: Brilliant 117 by Kashyap Prajapati powered Passage to India (PTI) to an exciting 14-run victory in a Premier Division clash against Muscat CT at Ministry of Sports grassy ground 2 in Amerat on Thursday.
Batting first, PTI scored 217 all out in the final over, thanks to Kashyap’s superb century. He received valuable support from Pruthvi Kumar Machhi, forging a 131-run second wicket partnership together. Veterans Munis Ansari and Rajesh Ranpura were the pick of the bowlers, taking five and three wickets respectively.
Muscat was cruising along at 153 for 2 before losing both Vaibhav Wategaonkar (34 off 56) and Jatinder Singh (62 off 69) quickly. Their departure triggered a middle order collapse and the whole Muscat outfit was bundled out for 203 in the 46th over. Shoaib Khan chipped in with a useful 33 off 47. Seamers Bilal Khan, Ahmed Fayyaz Butt and Mohammed Bilal bagged three and two wickets each respectively.

Bilal Khan 3-51, Ahmed Fayyaz Butt 2-27, Mohammed Bilal 2-50) by 14 runs.
Assarain win
Sindo Michael claimed 4 for 37 and captain Zeeshan Maqsood scored vital 59 off 84 to script a fighting 3-wicket win over Enhance at MOS ground 1 on Friday.
Asked to bat first, Enhance found it hard to bat freely, getting bowled out for 168 in the final over. Nester Dhamba (27 off 81) Jahanzeb Ali (25 off 54) and Khawar Ali (24 off 39) were the main scorers. Apart from Sindo’s superb spell, Kaleemullah and Shakeel Ahmad bowled well too, taking two wickets each.
Teetering at 64 for 4 in the 10th over, Assarain recovered well to overhaul the target in 39 overs, scoring 170 for 7. Apart from Maqsood, Sami Ur Rahman was the only other notable scorer with 23 off 19. Aqil Khan and young Obaidullah claimed two wickets each.

Jibran, Aqil star for IT Works
Solid 84 by Jibran Yousuf and Adil Khan’s excellent all-round show helped IT Works to yet another win, this time against Renaissance in an A Division clash at MOS ground 2 on Friday.
Jibran’s solid knock provided the foundation for IT Works’ healthy total of 256 all out in the last over. Adil (42 off 53)and Farhan Afzal (27 off 22) were the other main scorers. Yash Mehta, Azharuddin and Faizal Jerome took two wickets each.
Renaissance failed to rise to the occasion and was dismissed for 168 in the 46th over. Faizal topscored with 47 off 58 while Siddiq Afsar contributed 37 off 61. Waseem Akhter, Asim Kamal, Mudassar Iqbal and Muzammil Ilyas all claimed two wickets each.

Waseem Akhter 2-12, Asim Kamal 2-23, Mudassar Iqbal 2-24, Muzammil Ilyas 2-41) by 88 runs.
