Muscat: The MSM30 index ended higher to close at 4459.36 points, up by 0.10 per cent. MSM Sharia Index closed at 605.25 points, down by 0.07 per cent. Global Financial Investment was the most active in terms of volume while Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of turnover. The top gainer of the day was Phoenix Power, up by 2.73 per cent. while the top loser was Raysut Cement which closed lower by 2.51 per cent.
A total number of 421 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR1.39 million with more than 9.52 million shares changing hands. Out of 36 traded stocks, 11 advanced, 2 declined and 23 remained unchanged. At the session close, foreign investors investors were net buyers for OMR221,000 followed by GCC and Arab investors for OMR135,000 while Omani investors remained as net sellers for OMR356,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index gained 0.10 per cent to close at 6932.09 points. Al Madina Investment, Al Madina Takaful, Al Sharqia Investment Holding, Al Anwar Holding and Bank Muscat went up by 2.63 per cent, 2.13 per cent, 1.08 per cent, 0.97 per cent and 0.48 per cent respectively. Bank Sohar was down 0.79 per cent.
Industrial Index lost 0.05 per cent to close at 5,384.55 points. Galfar Engineering was up by 0.98 per cent. Raysut Cement was down 2.51 per cent.
Services Index gained 0.48 per cent to close at 2,448.34 points. Phoenix Power, Al Suwadi Power, Al Batinah Power, Omantel and Ooredoo were up by 2.73 per cent, 1.72 per cent, 1.72 per cent, 0.49 per cent and 0.36 per cent respectively. There were no losers on Tuesday.
