Muscat: A large customer turnout is expected for Oman's Home and Building Show 2018, that began in Muscat on Monday, at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre.
A statement by event organisers said that the three-day event was "formally inaugurated by H.E. Eng. Mohsin bin Mohammed Al Sheikh, Chairman of Muscat Municipality".
The show is mainly directed at branding and connecting costumers to the companies. Al Siyabi added, "This is a business dominated by costumers, such as people who are building homes. There are businesses that also come. But it's mostly about costumers."
A Business Development Executive at Al Hajiry Furnishing said that there is an element of prestige at these events, as they are mostly branding oriented.
The executive said, "There are multiple companies that, at the last few events, had large stands and galleries. Some of them are not here today as they cut down on costs. To be here is almost proof that we are able to spend the money to connect on costumers on a personal level and ensure communication remains open."
According to a statement by Omar Al Siyabi, General Manager of New Home for World Projects, "This is not a business where you market electronically. It really is about being present as a brand that people can trust, and this is why it was important for me to be here."
The statement by event organizers added, "In all, around 800 different brands from over 30 countries are on display amid the high-tech settings of the convention centre. Together, they represent the most comprehensive collection of products, technologies and services related to the home and building environment ever to be showcased in the Sultanate."
