Equestrian: Al Rahba Racecourse sees tough competition on first race day

MUSCAT: The first day of the new horse racing season began with some tough competition which attracted a huge audience at the Al Rahba racecourse in Barka.
Abbas bin Abdullah Al Bahrani, head of financial affairs of Royal Court Affairs attended the races which was organised by the Royal Horse Racing Club.
There was a lot of enthusiasm on the first day of the races among the horse owners which was seen by the selection of the best horses; some of which were classified as group one.
The jockeys too were excited and performed to the highest level whcih reflected on the general view of the day which included an eight card race, six for pure bred Arabian horses and two for thoroughbreds.
At the end of the races, Abbas bin Abdullah Al Bahrani presented the trophies to winners.
