MUSCAT: Oman concluded a series of friendly matches in preparation for the upcoming Asian Cup with a 2-0 victory over Thailand.
The Red Warriors took the lead in the 25th minute, with Ahmed Kanu scoring a penalty.
Mohsin Al Ghassani added Oman's second 30 minutes later.
In a statement posted online, the Oman Football Association said, "Our national team concludes its friendly experiences in its camp in the brotherly United Arab Emirates by beating our Thai counterparts by two goals without reply."
The Asian Cup is due to kick-off in Abu Dhabi on January 5, when the UAE plays Bahrain at the event's curtain raiser at Sheikh Zayed Sports City.
Oman have been placed in Group F with favourites Japan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan. They play their first game against Turkmenistan in Sharjah on January 9, 2019.
