Flash floods and landslides triggered by torrential rains in Indonesia have killed at least 21 people.

Eleven schoolchildren were among those who died and 15 people were missing.

More than 500 homes in the provinces of North and West Sumatra have been flooded or damaged.

Evacuation is underway, but officials said access is difficult as the affected villages are in the mountains.
