Budget 2019: 76 per cent of government unit expenditure set aside for salaries

Muscat: A total of OMR4.5 billion has been set aside for salaries and entitlements for employees of Oman's ministries and civil government units in 2019.
According to Oman's General Budget for 2019, this amount accounts for 76 per cent of the total spending for government agencies.

Meanwhile, education, health, social security, social welfare, and housing have been prioritised in the new budget, accounting for the largest proportion of total public spending at around 39 per cent.
