Muscat: The Ministry of Manpower (MoM) is making great efforts to create job opportunities for the national manpower at the various sectors and activities.
It also does its best to ensure that Omanis are provided with incentives that help them accept the offered job opportunities, settle at work and turn out to work for the private sector.
The MoM also maintains regular communication and coordination with the private sector organisations to create job opportunities for the Omani youths at the different fields and activities by announcing the vacancies at the private sector organisations at the different media means.
During December 2018, a number of private sector companies offered more than 400 job opportunities for Omanis.
The MoM has already started interviews with 4,298 jobseekers who were called for interviews, which will continue up next Thursday.
The move comes within the efforts made by the Government to create job opportunities for Omanis at the different fields and specialisations.
As part of the cooperation and coordination between the MoM and the various private sector organisations to create job opportunities for jobseekers at various specialisations, a number of private sector organisations also today announced more than 60 job opportunities.
Next week, the MoM will call a number of jobseekers and will meet a number of private sector companies to create additional fresh job opportunities.
The statistics of the Public Authority for Manpower Register (PAMR) pointed out that the number of active jobseekers as of the end of November 2018 stood at 45,711 most of them between 25 to 29-year-old (18,467).
In terms of education qualifications, the number of jobseekers below the general education diploma stood at 5,204, compared to 12,782 at the level of general education diploma and equivalent, 8,625 holders of university diploma level, 18,981 at the university level, 113 holders of master and 6 at the Ph.D. level.
The MoM is making great efforts to announce the available job opportunities at the private sector and invite jobseekers for interviews, in cooperation with the relevant organisations.
The MoM also cooperates with the Public Authority for Manpower Register in publishing weekly supplements about job opportunities.
As of 26 December this year, 47 supplements were published - 7,099 job opportunities. As of 27 December this year, the MoM also published 45 supplements for interviews. It also forwarded 114,709 invitations for interviews for 12,847 job opportunities.
