'Most expensive' Malayalam film ever made set for Oman release

Muscat: Malayalam superstar Nivin Pauly’s ambitious bio-pic on the famous “Robinhood of Kerala” during the 19th century —Kayamkulam Kochunni — is all set to release across theatres in Oman on Thursday.

The movie, touted to be the most expensive project in the Malayalam film industry — shot on a budget of INR45 crore, will be released worldwide on October 11.

Nivin’s powerful role as Kochunni and actor Mohanlal’s cameo as Ithikarapakki is expected to set the theatres on fire.

Nivin, who has created a niche for himself with some of the finest performances over the years, is anticipating a big opening for the film that has been shot in some parts of Southern India and Sri Lanka.

Directed by Rosshan Andrews and produced by Gokulam Gopalan, the film also stars Priya Anand, Babu Antony and Sunny Wayne in pivotal roles. Phars Films will distribute the films across GCC. In Oman, the movie will release across VOX Cinemas and Star Cinema in Ruwi.
