Oman's share index ends lower marginally

Muscat: The MSM30 index ended lower to close at 4505.35 points, down by 0.24 per cent. MSM Sharia Index closed at 611.22 points, down by 0.34 per cent. Ahli Bank was the most active in terms of volume and in terms of turnover. The top gainer of the day was Bank Dhofar, up by 1.89 per cent, while the top loser was Ominvest bonds, which closed lower by 3.19 per cent.
A total number of 365 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR1.35 million with more than 8.36 million shares changing hands. Out of 37 traded stocks, 3 advanced, 13 declined and 21 remained unchanged. At the session close, GCC and Arab investors were net sellers for OMR104,000 followed by Foreign investors for OMR59,000 while Omani investors remained as net buyers for OMR163,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index lost 0.46 per cent to close at 7,025.57 points. Bank Dhofar went up by 1.89 per cent. Ominvest, Al Anwar Holding, Bank Nizwa, Muscat Finance and United Finance were down by 3.19 per cent, 1.74 per cent, 1.15 per cent, 1.12 per cent and 1.09 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index lost 0.26 per cent to close at 5,493.91 points. There were no gainers from the industry sector. Oman Fisheries, Galfar Engineering and Salalah Mills were down by 2.3 per cent, 0.95 per cent and 0.52 per cent respectively.
Services Index lost 0.15 per cent to close at 2,456.77 points. Muscat City Desalination and Omantel were up by 0.76 per cent and 0.48 per cent respectively. Renaissance Services, Al Jazeera Services and Phoenix Power were down by 0.99 per cent, 0.91 per cent, and 0.88 per cent respectively.
