Muscat Municipality to hold cricket tournament from November 2

MUSCAT: Muscat Municipality, represented by the Directorate General of Human Resources and the Sport Committee will hold the Muscat Cricket Tournament for the second consecutive year which was announced during a press conference held at the Al Falaj Hotel.
The tournament will be held in collaboration with the Oman Cricket Club along with a number of corporate entities from November 2-30, with matches being held every Friday at the Qurum Natural Park.
According to the organisers a total number of 32 teams will participate in the tournament with 11 teams from the Muscat Municipality, 16 teams from the private sector and 5 Omani teams.
The conference emphasised the importance of this tournament and its role in promoting sporting skill among the participating teams.
Assistant Director General of the Directorate General of Human Resources Adil Arafah said that Muscat Municipality seeks through this tournament to raise people's awareness of physical activity and to upgrade the level of diffenernt sport activities among people.
Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Mahrouqi, chairman of the Sports Committee at Muscat Municipality said that this tournament tries to invest the success made in the previous tournament and to continue finding an effective sponsorship that serves as an umbrella for such tournament.
Muscat Municipality expressed their gratitude to Khimji Ramdas for their support to the tournament for the second consecutive year. They even announced that the draw will be held at later date.
