Oman's share index ends lower marginally

Muscat: The MSM30 index ended lower to close at 4535.34 points, down by 0.06 per cent. MSM Sharia Index closed at 613.52 points, up by 0.30 per cent. Galfar Engineering was the most active in terms of volume while Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of turnover. The top gainer of the day was Al Batinah Power, up by 3.45 per cent. while the top loser was Oman Chlorine which closed lower by 5.06 per cent.
A total number of 577 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR1.82 million with more than 12.94 million shares changing hands. Out of 35 traded stocks, 15 advanced, 6 declined and 14 remained unchanged. At the session close, Omani investors remained as net buyers for OMR156,000 worth of shares followed by the Foreign investors for OMR78,000, while GCC & Arab investors were net sellers for OMR235,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index gained 0.07 per cent to close at 7031.30 points. Oman And Emirates Inv. Holding, Gulf Invest Services Holding, Al Madina Takaful, Alizz Islamic Bank and Muscat Finance were up by 3.2 per cent, 2.17 per cent, 2.13 per cent, 1.18 per cent and 1.14 per cent respectively. Bank Dhofar and Al Ahlia Insurance were down by 3.66 per cent and 2.78 per cent respectively
Industrial Index gained 0.38 per cent to close at 5532.96 points. Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles, Galfar Engineering and Oman Fisheries were up by 2.27 per cent, 1.9 per cent and 1.18 per cent respectively. Oman Chlorine was down 5.06 per cent.
Services Index gained 0.31 per cent to close at 2482.52 points. Al Batinah Power, Al Suwadi Power and OIFC were up by 3.45 per cent, 1.69 per cent and 1 per cent respectively. SMN Power Holding, Al Jazeera Services and Phoenix Power were down by 4.26 per cent, 0.9 per cent, and 0.87 per cent respectively.
