Muscat: The Royal Oman Police has stated that there is no truth to rumours circulating on social media regarding an accident involving a bus.
It had been suggested that a bus carrying 13 students had crashed close to Barka bridge on the Al Batinah Expressway.
An ROP statement read "there is no truth to rumours being spread on social media claiming that a bus carrying 13 female students has been involved in an accident near Barka bridge on the Al Batinah Expressway."
"The ROP calls upon everybody not to spread news that is untrue that may cause worry among the community," it went on to say.
