A gulper eel was found off the coast of Hawaii by researchers conducting a deep-sea exploration of the sea floor on Wednesday.
The eel, which has a slender body shape, can scoop up larger prey similar to a pelican.
It also has a large mouth, giving it a muppet-like look when inflated.
Gulper eels also go by the name pelican eel or umbrella mouth, and can grow up to three feet in length.
