Muscat: Two people have been arrested on charges of fraud, the Royal Oman Police (ROP) has announced.
The accused, officials revealed, attempted to cheat people by saying that they could double money.
An official of Royal Oman Police revealed, "The accused told the victims [that they could convert paper into money]. The accused then asked victims for OMR60,000 to buy paper, which they would then convert into original banknotes of $100, by using chemicals.”
"However, the victim informed the police so the fraudsters were caught in the act,” ROP added.
