Two cruise ships with over 3,500 tourists onboard arrive in Oman

Muscat: Two cruise ships - MSC Lirica and Horizon - carrying more than 3,500 tourists reached the Sultan Qaboos Port on Tuesday, the Ministry of Tourism has announced.

In a statement posted online, the ministry said, "Two cruise ships ‘MSC Lirica ‘ & ‘Horizon ‘ have arrived in Sultan Qaboos Port carrying more than 3,500 tourists onboard."

The arrival of the ships highlights the port's ongoing rise as a major hub for tourism in the region. Regarded as one of Oman's oldest and most historic ports, the Sultan Qaboos port is currently being turned into a waterfront destination as part of a $2 billion (OMR 770 million).
