Here is how you can book taxis in advance in Oman

Muscat: A first-of-its-kind taxi ordering service has been launched by the National Transportation Company, Mwasalat.
According to the company, “This service is considered the first-of-its-kind in the Sultanate and aims to facilitate the booking of taxis in advance quickly, and without the need to contact the taxi driver.”
The service can be accessed through Mwasalat Taxi Butler Devices.
It also allows the request of more than one vehicle at the push of a button if the number of passengers exceeds the capacity of the taxi.
In addition to this, the user can obtain a direct update regarding the expected arrival time and diver information with a notification upon the vehicle's arrival at the requested location.
A number of rapid service devices were installed as part of the first stage at Al Mouj Golf Club and Muscat Hills.
There is a plan to expand the service to include a number of government and private institutions and commercial centres depending on the demand for the service.
Mwasalat has so far recorded 150,000 trips, which is a rate of 700 trips per day, and the number of people registered on the application has reached almost 40,000 users to date.
