Cricket: Qasim smashes ton in Attic Outdoor’s fighting win

MUSCAT: A scintillating 120 off 62 by opener Qasim was the highlight of Attic Outdoor’s fighting 25-run win over Al Fairuz CT in a high-scoring C Division clash at Muscat Municipality ground 1 in Al Amerat.
Invited to bat first, Attic Outdoors amassed 215 for 1 in 20 overs thanks to Qasim’s match-winning century. His opening partner Ghufran Anjum batted well too for his 61 off 39 balls.
Al Fairuz’s run chase was led by opener Dharvesh Asath who slammed 127 off 72 but could not see his side to victory as it could score only 190 for 5 in 20 overs. Satham Hussain contributed 22 of 20.
Brief scores: Attic Outdoors 215 for 1 in 20 overs (Qasim 120 – 8x4, 9x6, Ghufran Anjum 61 – 7x4, 2x6) defeated Al Fairuz 190 for 5 in 20 overs (Dharvesh Asath 127 – 18x4, 1x6, Satham Hussain 22 – 1x4) by 25 runs.
Shareef shines for TR Engineering
Omani player Shareef Al Balushi steered TR Engineering to a concincing 57-run victory against Bosher Olympic Center (BOC) in a G Division game at Muscat Municipality ground 4.
Batting first, TR Engineering piled up 203 for 8 in 20 overs thanks to 53-ball 86 by Shareef who was involved in a 108-run fourth wicket partnership with Salman Khan (61 off 32) that propelled them to a match-winning total. Shinon Shijith and Vraj Asher took two wickets each.
Struggling at 50 for 4 in the 9th over, BOC could manage only 146 for 6 in its quota of 20 overs. Captain Saif Shamsuddin (58 off 32) and Shanmugarajan Kuttiraja (39 not out off 34) were the only notable scorers. Javed Shaikh claimed 3 wickets for 20 runs.

Amir Mushtaq (66 off 38) was the hero of Abdul Aziz Ali Trading and Contracting’s (AAATC)easy 8-wicket victory against Al Siraj Holding in an H Division game.
Chasing 153 to win, Abdul Aziz Ali Trading raced to the target in the 14th over, scoring 153 for 2.

In another I Division match, superb all-round show by Gadhia Nimesh powered AWS Engineering to an easy 95-run win against Ghantoot Group.
Gadhia first slammed 50 off 40 as AWS Engineering piled up 195 for 6 and then claimed 3 wickets for just 9 runs to ensure a comfortable victory for his team.
