Oman Olympic Committee holds sports management course on finance

MUSCAT: A specialised sports management course on finance organised by Oman Olympic Committee (OOC) began on Monday at Oman Sail premises within the framework of the Olympic Solidarity 2018 programmes approved by OOC Board.
In attendance were Taha bin Sulaiman Al Kishry, OOC Secretary General, Dr. Munzir bin Hilal Al Busaidi, assistant professor and assistant dean for training and community service at Sultan Qaboos University and the participating 22 employees involved in finance in sports associations and committees and other partnering sports organisations.
In his opening address, Al Kishry welcomed the congregation on behalf of OOC Board and thanked Oman Sail for hosting the course. He further added about the role of OOC in activating the programmes and courses covering all administrative, financial and technical aspects with a view to uplifting productivity of employees of sports organisations in Oman.
Dr. Munzir Al Busaidi addressed the audience expressing his thanks and appreciation to OOC Board for its continuing support to such courses, which contribute to honing the skills and increasing the experience of cadres working in OOC and sports associations and committees in the field of finance.
Thereafter, the lecturer delivered his first speech which dealt with accounting and its objectives and the accounting steps taken upon recording, classifying and preparing financial statements.
This course is part of a series of programmes in sports management approved by OOC Board of Directors. OOC represented by Oman Olympic Solidarity Committee has always been keen to maximize the utilisation of such programmes by putting in place a detailed plan in this respect targeting all sports associations and committees as well as other sports stakeholders.
