Muscat: Bangladesh School Muscat (BSM) recently appointed a new principal, Farzana Karim, to continue its sustained development in the academic and administrative sectors.
The newly appointed principal started her official duties from the very first day of her joining. The ad hoc committee of Bangladesh Schools in the Sultanate, all the teaching and administrative staff and the students gave her a very warm welcome.
The Chairman of the ad hoc committee, Bangladesh Schools in the Sultanate, Engineer Md. Shamsul Alam, felicitated the new principal on behalf of the committee. He assured her of the full support and cooperation within the capacity of the committee, while performing the given assignment.
“The ad hoc committee tried its best to find the best principal for BSM, a glorious and one of the top community schools in the Sultanate. We found Farzana Karim the best amongst all the candidates. She possesses vast professional experience and a magnificent academic calibre. We offer her our full support and cooperation. We are very hopeful her efficient professionalism will definitely benefit BSM,” said the chairman, while felicitating the new principal.
Karim also expressed her delight and gratitude for the privilege of leading BSM in the years to come. She expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the Almighty for giving her such a prestigious opportunity.
The target-oriented principal shared her mission and vision with all the staff, especially the teaching staff, on her first day at the school. She also requested the parents to extend a helping hand towards her.
The new principal exhibited her eminent professionalism and devotion to the school on her first working day by starting routine work. She conducted a meeting with the staff to give them a clear idea about all of their absolute responsibilities to reach the peak of success as a team.
“BSM is not only a school, it is a part of the ongoing academic excellence of Bangladesh. My assignment is to reach the peak of success and to keep the flag of BSM flying high in the sky. I am committed to my assignment; so I request all of you to demonstrate the maximum professionalism,” said the principal.
Karim completed her M.A. in English Literature from the University of Dhaka. She further enriched her academic calibre by obtaining CCELT, Cambridge; ICT Philips Academy, USA; Certificate in Education, Aga Khan University, Pakistan; and CC in Effective Teaching, Highland Resource College, Canada. She started her career at Bangladesh International Tutorial as an English teacher in June 1990. She switched to Aga Khan School in 2001.
She also worked at Sunneydale as Senior English Faculty. Her administrative career started at Neuraal International School as the principal. Later on, she joined BAF Shaheen English Medium School in 2010, and after that, she joined Southeast Bank Green School as the founder principal.
Nasrin Sultana, who was assigned the principal-in-charge after the departure of the previous principal, wished all the success to the new principal. She also assured her that she would always remain on standby to offer cooperation with regard to any matter.
