Volkswagen is ending its Beetle production

Volkswagen has announced that it will end production of its iconic Beetle model in 2019.

This comes with the automaker preparing for a leap towards a future of mass-market electric cars.

The car had been a steady hit for three generations, dating all the way back to Hitler's Germany in the 1930s.

For Beetle fans, two new models have been unveiled, which will join the final Beetle line up next year.
