Over 40 expat workers arrested in Oman

Muscat: A total of 43 expats, including housemaids, were arrested in the Wilayat of Seeb, the Ministry of Manpower has announced.

According to authorities, 30 out of the 43 were housemaids. The expats were arrested after an inspection campaign was carried out by the Ministry.

In a statement online, the Ministry said, "This morning, the Ministry of Manpower carried out inspection campaigns at a number of sites that housed [several people who were] violating laws, in the wilayat of Seeb. [Officials] arrested 43 workers, including 30 housemaids."
