KUALA LUMPUR: Oman’s national junior football team will face off against Indonesia in a friendly match at the Naimey Stadium as part of its preparations for the Asian Cup qualifiers.
Coach Yacoub Sabahi stressed “that this will be a good opportunity for the team to prepare for the upcoming Asian game against Yemen which will be held on September 21, followed by the all-important match against a strong Australian side on September 25 along with the other teams from the same group.”
“The team has put in a lot of training at the Malaysian Football Federation ground focusing mainly on ball possession and tactical aspects of the game”, he added.
The team will adopt a 4-4-2 strategy with Banitham Al Ajmi as goalkeeper. The four defenders will be Mohammed Al Balushi, and Issa Al Nabi as central defenders while Abdula Hakim Al Owaisi and Al Sinidi will play as right and left back respectively. Al Azhar Al Balushi and Hamad Al Makhini will play as half-backs with Oman Al Salati and Fahd Al Rasabi will play on the wings aiding the two strikers Tarif Al Atrashi and Qusay Al Jaradi who will play upfront.
