These two British comedians are performing in Oman this weekend

Muscat: Veteran comedians Phil Kay and Stephen Carlin will be arriving in the Sultanate on Thursday, September 13 to perform at the Crowne Plaza Hotel at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre.
“I run a comedy company in Thailand, where I am based, and we decided to partner with an Omani company here, Seven Pro Media, to see if we could get comedians coming here every month,” said Mark Cameron, founder of Asean Events, that is organising the show.
“I know a comedy manager in Ireland, and I was reaching out to him for comedians for the event, and I asked him if Phil and Stephen were available and he said, 'yes',” he added. “We have about 160 people already registered for this event, and we’re quite confident of selling out at 250. The comedians coming here are quite happy because you only get about 50 to 60 people for comedy night in Thailand, so they’re looking forward to performing in front of a bigger audience.”
Mark added that although the comedians would be coming to Oman, they would unfortunately have little time to check out the culture and tradition of Muscat.
“Unfortunately, these people are really busy so they will not have the time to see Muscat,” he said. “Stephen arrives at 3:00 am on Thursday morning, and Phil comes in at 6:00 am. They’ll have some time to rest and perform that evening, but they’re both flying out the next morning.
“We have had a very good working relationship with Crowne Plaza who have arranged for their airport pick up and drop services, provided the accommodation and food, and of course, the venue for the performance,” added Mark. “The management there are really friendly and we look forward to having a fruitful relationship with them.”
Tickets are available at OMR20, both before the event – which will entitle patrons to a free drink – or at the gate. The show begins at 8:00 pm and doors open at 7:30 pm.
