Muscat: Five people were injured in a fire at a leading hypermarket in Muscat, the Public Authority for Civil Defence and Ambulance (PACDA) said in a statement.
According to an official from PACDA, the fire broke out in the kitchen area of the hypermarket, and emergency medical care was provided to the injured on site.
In an online statement, PACDA said that firefighters "managed to control a fire that broke out in the kitchen chimney" at the store in Al Ghubra in the wilayat of Bausher, "resulting in 5 people suffering minor injuries from smoke inhalation."
