Muscat: The MSM30 index ended lower on Monday and closed at 4,427.65 points, down by 0.18 per cent.
MSM Sharia Index closed at 612.18 points, down by 0.55 per cent. Oman and Emirates Inv. Holding was the most active in terms of volume while Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of turnover. The top gainer of the day was Oman And Emirates Inv. Holding, up by 5.08 per cent. The top loser was Oman Chlorine, which closed lower by 20 per cent.
A total number of 301 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR781,000 with more than 4.73 million shares changing hands. Out of 34 traded stocks, 9 advanced, 11 declined and 14 remained unchanged. At the session close, GCC & Arab investors were net sellers for OMR90,000 worth of shares followed by the foreign investors for OMR23,000, while Omani investors were net buyers for OMR114,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index lost 0.03 per cent to close at 6,909.02 points. Oman And Emirates Inv. Holding, Muscat Finance, HSBC Bank Oman, Bank Muscat and Al Anwar Holding were up by 5.08 per cent, 2.35 per cent, 1.69 per cent, 1.57 per cent and 0.91 per cent respectively. United Finance, Alizz Islamic Bank, Bank Nizwa, Al Madina Takaful and Bank Sohar were down by 10 per cent, 2.25 per cent, 1.14 per cent, 1.03 per cent and 0.77 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index gained 0.13 per cent to close at 5,474.64 points. Voltamp Energy and Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles were up by 4.38 per cent and 1.19 per cent respectively. Oman Chlorine and Oman Fisheries were down by 20 per cent and 1.19 per cent respectively.
Services Sector Index lost 0.24 per cent to close at 2,375.68 points. There were no gainers. Al Jazeera Services, Ooredoo and Muscat City Desalination were down by 1.79 per cent, 1.52 per cent and 0.74 per cent respectively.
