Oman share index ends higher

Muscat: The MSM30 index ended higher on Sunday and closed at 4,435.53 points, up by 0.37 per cent. MSM Sharia Index closed at 615.57 points, down by 0.12 per cent. Galfar Engineering was the most active in terms of volume while Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of turnover. The top gainer of the day was Voltamp Energy, up by 5.38 per cent. The top loser was Al Sharqia Investment Holding, which closed lower by 3.03 per cent.
A total number of 317 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR761,000 with more than 5.32 million shares changing hands. Out of 34 traded stocks, 12 advanced, 6 declined and 16 remained unchanged. At the session close, GCC & Arab investors were net sellers for OMR62,000 worth of shares followed by the foreign investors for OMR14,000, while Omani investors were net buyers for OMR77,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index gained 0.28 per cent to close at 6,911.04 points. Al Madina Investment, Oman and Emirates Inv. Holding, Al Anwar Holding, Bank Nizwa and Gulf Investment Services were up by 4.88 per cent, 4.42 per cent, 1.85 per cent, 1.15 per cent and 1.11per cent respectively Al Sharqia Investment Holding, Taageer Finance, National Bank of Oman and Alizz Islamic Bank were down by 3.03 per cent, 2.15 per cent, 1.56 per cent and 1.11 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index gained 0.28 per cent to close at 5,467.73 points. Voltamp Energy, Galfar Engineering and Oman Fisheries were up by 5.38 per cent, 1.94 per cent and 1.2 per cent respectively. Oman Flour Mills and Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles were down by 1.55 per cent and 1.18 per cent respectively.
Services Sector Index gained 0.24 per cent to close at 2,381.48 points. Omantel and Renaissance Services were up by 1.04 per cent and 0.99 per cent respectively. There were no losers.
