Call to ensure school transport safety as new session begins

Muscat: Lt. Col. Abdullah bin Salim Al Saadi, Director of Traffic at Muscat Governorate Police Headquarters has called for maintaining safety of school students in buses and on roads.
Issuing the call as the new academic year begins, he has urged the cooperation of all people, particularly other vehicles drivers.
He also stressed the need for school bus drivers to observe all applicable traffic rules and regulations, guidance and instructions to maintain safety of students.
He stated that main reason for traffic accidents were violation of rules by some drivers.
Family members of students and school staff should play their role in the field of achieving safety by instilling traffic awareness in children.
Parents should instruct their children to ensure that the bus has fully stopped stoppage before getting off.
