Barka: Horse rider Ammar Al Balushi (Horse Marfal) secured the first place in the one-star international endurance race for 100 kms organised by Oman Equestrian Federation for season 2018-2019 at the Endurance Village at Seih Al Mahamid in the Wilayat of Barka.
Sixteen out of 44 horses succeeded in crossing the finish line after having passed the veterinary tests one day prior to the race.
Ammar Al Balushi secured the first place in the one-star international endurance race for 100 kms after completing in 4 hours, 7 minutes and 20 seconds.
The second place went to Adel Moosa Al Balushi (Horse Khalil) who completed the race in 4 hours, 7 minutes and 25 seconds.
Omar Al Balushi (Horse Nims) bagged the third place with a timing of 4 hours, 8 minutes and 15 seconds.
The fourth place was secured by Ahmed Hamood Al Balushi who took 4 hours, 12 minutes and 10 seconds. The fifth place was secured by Bader Salim Al Balushi with a timing of 4 hours, 30 minutes and 25 seconds.
The race was organised for three phases, the first was for 40 kms , the second for 35 kms and the third for 25 kms.
On the conclusion of the competitions, colonel Adel bin Amer Al Hosni , assistant to director general of the Royal Cavalry for Technical Affairs honoured the top winners in the presence of Ahmed bin Saif Al Abri, chairman of the competitions committee at Oman Equestrian Federation.
