An Army pilot died and his brother was critically injured after their single-engine plane crashed in Massachusetts on Friday.
Family members say the brothers had gone up to spread their father's ashes, who had died several weeks ago.
Authorities have identified the deceased as an experienced helicopter pilot who flew Blackhawks with the Army National Guard.
The 34-year-old Scott Landis was on leave because his father had died and he was due to return on Saturday.
