MUSCAT: Oman cross country rally driver Abdullah Al Zubair has confirmed his participation in this season’s FIA cross country Rally 2018 in Baja Columna Medica in Poland from August 30 to September 2 in a Can Am car after his successful stint in Baja Aragon Spain.
The young Omani racer along with his Navigator Faisal Al Raisi, are looking forward to this big event after gaining some experience and knowledge from the last rally in Spain.
Moreover, as this is their second race with the new Can Am car buggy both Omanis will have to be very well prepared for the competition they will face from other drivers especially from the same category T2 with more than 10 cars expected to be in their group.
The rally will consist seven stages over three days of the rally, starting with day one as a 7km super special stage for spectators which will be held in Szczecin, and the next two stages will be held on the second day of the race.
Drawsko Pomorskie will hold the first of the two stages a 220km and the second will be a repeated stage in the same place.
Sunday, being the last day of the rally two short stages will be held Krzekowo and Lubieszyn, the Krzekowo stage will be for 18km and the Lubies stage will be for 10km and both stages will be repeated twice.
Abdullah Al Zubair before going to Poland to attend the race said, “he will participate in this race to gain more experience for upcoming races, and he will try to do his best to finish the race.
Faisal Al Raisi also explained the difficulties faced during the different stages, but is now happy with the experience he gained in Abu Dhabi and Qatar and add to that the rally In Baja Spain.
