Video: Death toll reaches 75 in Kerala's worst floods in a century

Muscat: The death toll in Kerala in India reached 75 as the state is reeling under one of its worst floods in recent history.
In a tweet, Prime Minister, Narendra Modi said on Thursday that he had spoken to Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. "We discussed the flood situation in the state. Have asked Defence Ministry to further step up the rescue and relief operations across the state. Praying for the safety and well-being of the people of Kerala," PM Modi wrote.
All operations at Kochi Airport have been suspended till 2:00 pm on Saturday due to flooding in and around the airport. A red alert has been issued in all 14 districts of the state.
Airlines flying from Muscat to Kochi have offered passengers the option to fly to other destinations close to Kochi or get a full refund. Indian expatriates, who had air tickets to travel to Kochi from Wednesday to Saturday, may instead, fly to Trivandrum, Calicut, Mangalore or Coimbatore.
