Muscat: The Public Authority for Electricity and Water (Diam) affirmed that 64 per cent of the first package for the construction of water distribution networks in the Wilayat of Bausher was completed.
The project is expected to be completed by the end of the first quarter of 2019.
The cost of the project has reached more than OMR12 million, which includes existing and planned residential layouts to cope with the urban expansion of the Wilayat of Bausher.
Diam said that the project includes the establishment of water distribution networks, tanks and stations to strengthen pumping and filling stations for water tankers.
Diam affirmed that through the implementation of these projects, it seeks to provide a potable water service in all governorates of the Sultanate to complete the infrastructure as water is an essential element in the process of development being witnessed by the Sultanate.
