Female students exempt from housing fees at this Oman university

Muscat: Dhofar University’s executive council has decided to exempt female students from internal housing fees at its university hostel starting from the new academic year, 2018-2019.
University housing accommodates more than 1,000 female students in an academic year and all of them will benefit from this exemption.
“The Board of Trustees decided to exempt female students from boarding fees from the academic year 2018-2019,” a statement regarding the decision taken at the university’s meeting read.
The decision was taken during the meeting of the Board of Trustees of the University, chaired by Sheikh Mustahil bin Ahmed Al Mashani, and in the presence of all other ministers, sheikhs and academic professors in the council.
The agenda of the meeting included several topics on which appropriate decisions were taken. The importance of the development of academic programmes was discussed to meet the needs of the labour market, while continuing to open new colleges in various disciplines and the strategic plan for the rehabilitation and recruitment of Omani cadres.
