Muscat: Temperatures continue to soar in the Sultanate of Oman and two places — Amerat and Sur — recorded the highest maximum temperature of 47.1 degrees Celsius on Saturday, the Public Authority for Civil Aviation (PACA) announced.
According to PACA, Rustaq was the second hottest city with a recorded temperature of 46.8 degrees Celsius, closely followed by Bidiya which recorded 46.6 degrees Celsius. While Zamaim recorded 46.4 degrees Celsius, it was 46.3 degrees Celsius in Maqshin.
The coolest place in Oman was Qairoon Hairiti that recorded a minimum temperature of 20.9 degrees Celsius, followed by Shalim at 21 degrees Celsius. Dhalkut recorded 21.2 degrees Celsius, while Duqm, Yaaloni and Ras Al Hadd recorded 22.7, 22.8 and 23.1 degrees Celsius respectively.
