Arab League praises, Oman over child rights

Cairo: The Arab League has hailed Oman over the protection of child rights.
The Secretariat General of the league lauded the policies and mechanisms of the Sultanate for protection of the rights of child and prevention of violence against them in the third copy of draft of the “Arab comparative report of the forum on the recommendations of the UN Secretary General on cessation of violence against children”.
Issued recently, the report said that the laws prevailing in the Sultanate have guaranteed the rights of child and granted them the protection for exercising their rights easily within a safe community. It said that the Sultanate has continually worked on amending its prevailing laws and on issuance of new required legislations in consistent with the actual condition and for the optimal interest of the child for a better life and wellbeing. The report mentioned the legislations issued in the Sultanate, mainly the Child Law, promulgated by Royal Decree No. 22/2014 among other arrangements.
