“We are happy to launch our exclusive lounge in Oman and are grateful to the strong leadership and vision of the Airport Authority. I am confident that this new facility will enhance the overall airport experience for all passengers travelling through the airport. We have two types of services: one for VIP travellers who fly through private jets and the second one for commercial international persons who travel through a commercial airline but we will be providing special services by receiving them from the plane, bringing them to our lounge, finishing all the immigration work and finally taking them to their car,” said Adel Mardini, CEO and President at Jetex, while speaking to Times of Oman.
Serving over 50 destinations in more than 25 countries worldwide, this launch at Muscat International Airport and Salalah Airport is the 30th operational centre for this international company specialising in luxury ground-handling services.
“Oman is very important to us as it is the second largest country in the GCC. It reported the transport sector’s GDP growth at 9.5 per cent in 2016/2017 and a tremendous growth in international passengers from 12 million to 14 million, 16.7 per cent, in the past year as well. We would like to thank Oman Airport for the support they are providing to us,” Mardini said.
He added that the main challenges for any passenger are arrival and departure while flying. “We are a full concierge service for the customer who is flying via both private jets and commercial flights. We are proud to announce this service in Oman. Although we are still in the first phase of the opening of this temporary facility, we will soon build a permanent facility which will provide a full membership programme,” Mardini said.
Jetex is considered to be the first private aviation support company operating fully out of Oman.
Operating from the airport’s general aviation terminals, the new lounge will include greater convenience, excellent amenities, and a professional team to cater to all the VIP aviation requests.
Oman Airports CEO Sheikh Aimen Al Hosni said: “The opening of the new Jetex lounge is another milestone in providing VIP services at the new Muscat International Airport. We hope this will take us closer to our strategic goal in 2020 to be among the top 20 airports in the world. We are delighted to have excellent quality services from Jetex.”
