Muscat: The MSM30 index ended lower on Sunday and closed at 4520.02 points, down by 0.08 per cent. MSM Sharia Index closed at 643.00 points, down by 0.45 per cent. Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of volume and in terms of turnover. The top gainer of the day was Bank Nizwa, up by 1.12 per cent. Today’s top loser was Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles lower by 6.67 per cent.
A total number of 263 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR 897K with more than 3.96 million shares changing hands. Out of 25 traded stocks, 3 advanced, 9 declined and 13 remained unchanged. At the session close, Omani Investors were net buyers for OMR376,000 worth of shares followed by the GCC & Arab investors for OMR23,000, while Foreign investors were net sellers for OMR399,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index lost 0.11 per cent to close at 6,984.84 points. Bank Nizwa and Bank Muscat were up by 1.12 per cent and 0.53 per cent respectively. Al Madina Takaful, Oman And Emirates Inv. Holding, Oman United Insurance, Gulf Investment Services and HSBC Bank Oman were down by 2.04 per cent, 1.75 per cent, 1.25 per cent, 1.06 per cent, and 0.88 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index lost 0.78 per cent to close at 5977.55 points. There were no gainers on Sunday. Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles and Galfar Engineering And Con. were down by 6.67 per cent and 2.78 per cent respectively.
Services Sector Index lost 0.07 per cent to close at 2,432.33 points. Renaissance Services was up by 0.44 per cent. Al Jazeera Services was down by 5.51 per cent.
