Oman transport: New road project inaugurated

Wadi Al Ma’awel: A portion of Barka-Wadi Al Ma’awel-Nakhal dual-carriageway project in the Governorate of South Al Batinah was inaugurated by the Ministry of Transport and Communications yesterday. The 14 km long part extends from the Wilayat of Barka till Habraa village in the Wilayat of Wadi Al Ma’awel.

Eng. Salem bin Mohammed Al-Nu’aimi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport and Communications for Transport said the importance of the project, which serves the social, economic and tourism interests of several wilayats in the Governorate of South Al Batinah. He pointed out that the 14km long part of the road starts from the Wilayat of Barka and ends at the Wilayat of Nakhal crossing the Wilayat of Wadi Al Ma’awel.
He added that 65 per cent of the road has been completed.
