Oman Air launches Muscat-Casablanca route with direct flights

Muscat: Oman Air celebrated the opening of a brand new route, as it successfully inaugurated a new flight to Casablanca on Sunday.
Oman Air, the national carrier of the Sultanate, commenced its new service from Muscat to the Moroccan city of Casablanca on July 1, 2018.
The new service to Casablanca will be operated using a Boeing 787-800 Dreamliner. It flies from Muscat four times per week to the Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca.

Oman Air’s official delegation to Casablanca included Ahmed Nasser Al Mahrizi, Minister of Tourism, Public Authority for Civil Aviation CEO Dr. Mohammed Al Zaabi, and members of Oman Air’s senior management team.
The delegation was received by top-ranking officials in Morocco, including the Omani Ambassador to Morocco.
The launch of the service comes at an exciting time for Oman Air, as the airline commenced operations to Istanbul in June.
The national carrier is also set to introduce a new service to Moscow and relaunch its Maldives route this October.
With a flight time of 8 hours and 50 minutes, Flight WY171 will depart Muscat every Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 1.20am, arriving in Casablanca at 7.10am.
The 7-hour-and-50-minute return trip, Flight WY172, will depart Casablanca four times a week at 8.20pm every Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, arriving in Muscat International Airport’s new passenger terminal at 7.15pm.
The direct flight between Morocco and Oman is expected to benefit both business and leisure travellers, strengthening bilateral ties between the two countries.
