Oman share index ends lower

Muscat: The MSM30 index ended lower on Sunday and closed at 4560.51 points, down by 0.25 per cent. MSM Sharia Index closed at 660.23 points, down by 0.04 per cent. Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of volume and in terms of turnover. The top gainer of the day was Al Madina Investment, up by 2.04 per cent, while Oman and Emirates Investments Holding, down 8.33 per cent, was the top loser of the day.
A total number of 187 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR1.49 million with more than 5.94 million shares changing hands. Out of 23 traded stocks, 2 advanced, 6 declined and 15 remained unchanged. At the session close, Omani investors were net buyers for OMR711,000 worth of shares followed by Foreign Investors the for OMR12,000, while GCC & Arab investors were net sellers for OMR723,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index lost 0.46 per cent to close at 7023.61 points. Al Madina Investment was up by 2.04 per cent. Oman and Emirates Investments Holding, Gulf Investment Services, Ahli Bank and Bank Nizwa were down by 8.33 per cent, 2.00 per cent, 1.84 per cent and 1.10 per cent, respectively.
Industrial Index lost 0.04 per cent to close at 6097.80 points. Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles was up by 0.92 per cent. Gulf International Chemicals and Galfar Engineering & Contracting SAOG were down by 3.05 per cent and 1.8 per cent.
Services Sector Index gained 0.03 per cent to close at 2,475.62 points.
