Oman education: Indian School Muscat to launch new safe transport system

Muscat: Indian School Muscat will be the next Indian school to introduce the “School Monitored Safe Transport System,” confirmed the re-elected Board of Directors’ Chairman of Indian Schools in the Sultanate.
“Parents of 4,000 students at ISM have requested to start the safe transport system and a group of people are working on it and will be operated soon,” Wilson V George told the Times of Oman.

Around 10,000 children study in the Indian School Muscat.
According to George, some challenges have to be resolved before the safe transport system in ISM is implemented.
“We have different type of difficulties because of the size of the school and also the space constraint around the school,” he pointed out.
“But we will sort it out soon and will start the service soon,” George added.
Indian Schools in Darsait, Mabellah and Seeb have already implemented the safe transport system.
“Darsait and Mabellah schools have already started the safe transport system in August and it is fairly stable. The Seeb School was the latest to implement it in March,” he stated.
“Seeing the success of this initiative, we are now focusing on it to stabilise the system rather than accommodate more students,” George added.
“In the coming years our schools are going to come up with the safety system one by one,” he added.
He also said that other private transporters had also been forced to add more safety features and facilities for their survival.
“We consider this a positive sign and a good thing; our main objective is to make our children travel safely,” he asserted.
According to George, the school’s managing committee has also understood the importance of the system, especially after a lot of parents requested the implementation of the system.
