Six arrested for drug trafficking, abuse in Oman

Muscat: Six people were arrested on charges of possession of psychotropic substances for the purpose of abuse and trafficking in North Al Batinah by the Department of Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances.

In a statement online the Royal Oman Police (ROP) said: "In the first case, four defendants were arrested in the Wilayat of Sohar, carrying heroin pills and morphine, as well as several bottles of alcoholic beverages."

"In the second case, a quantity of methadone drug was seized from two suspects. All the accused were referred to the judicial authorities for proceedings to be completed," ROP added.
