Muscat: The “Spread More Smiles” campaign achieved its purpose of giving, sharing happiness and spreading smiles across the nation all through the holy month of Ramadan.
The Ramadan SMS and Win campaign, launched by T FM 95.4, aimed at giving people the chance to win daily cash prizes and a brand new Mitsubishi Pajero every week. A substantial amount generated by the SMSs was donated to Dar Al Atta’a, a local charity organisation in Oman.
Throughout the month-long “Spread More Smiles” campaign, listeners won OMR100 daily in cash and four lucky listeners won a Mitsubishi Pajero individually each week.
“It was our primary intention to run a campaign big enough to reach out to all sections of the society and make a difference to their lives, and we are glad that we were able to pull it off with the help of a wonderful team at Omantel and Mitsubishi,” said Garima Bhandari, Programme Director at T FM 95.4.
The daily cash prize winners were from different countries across the world, residing in different regions across Oman and were unique in their own way. However, the one factor they all had in common was that they wanted to share their joy with their families and loved ones, as well as give back to the society in their own little way and “spread more smiles”.
From a doctor who donated the entire amount he won to his hospital’s special kitty, which the management set up, to help those who cannot pay their medical bills, and an electrician from Sohar who wanted to send money back to his family living in Karachi, Pakistan, to parents who wanted to spend all the money on their children and husbands who wanted to share their money with their wives, the campaign saw them all.
On the other hand, the four winners who won Mitsubishi Pajeros had their own inspiring stories to share. Ibrahim, the very first winner of the grand prize, couldn’t believe his fate. All he could do was thank the Almighty for his luck and express gratitude to the team.
Abdul Ghafur, a Pakistani national from a humble background working as an electrician in Sohar, wanted to sell off his car immediately and pay off the loan he took to build his home in his village. He too gave all the credit to his fate and luck and said that “no matter what happens in your life, never stop believing! What’s yours will always come to you”.
Atallah al Balushi, an Omani national, said it was his first ever car that he would be driving. Everyone in his family owned a car except him and he was ecstatic that he could finally drive his very own car.

The final winner, Mohammed Riyas, an interior designer working in Salalah, moved from India to Muscat to earn a living and he never got the chance to invest in a car. When he was informed that he had won the car, he took the next available bus all the way from Salalah and traveled 12 hours straight to collect his car from the showroom. That’s how excited he was!

“Spread More Smiles has been one of our very first major campaigns as a young radio station. This drive has been very special for us as a team, as it enabled us to reach out to our audience in a big way, and touch many lives. The success of the initiative has given us motivation to come up with more such campaigns and help people living in Oman in our own little way,” said Bhandari.
Dar Al Atta’a benefitted the most, as the initiative raised a considerable amount of money to be donated towards helping them make a difference to the lives of those in need.
The overall response to this initiative was well received and accepted by the audience and listeners of T FM 95.4. “Spread More Smiles” was a month-long Ramadan campaign launched by T FM 95.4, supported by Omantel, Mitsubishi and Dar Al Atta’a.
