Muscat: The MSM30 index ended lower on Tuesday and closed at 4570.18 points, down by 0.29 per cent. MSM Sharia Index closed at 657.96 points, down by 0.15 per cent. Bank Nizwa was the most active in terms of volume while Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of turnover. The top gainer of the day was OETI, up by 2.70 per cent, while Gulf investment services, down by 4 per cent, was the top loser of the day.
A total number of 427 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR2.14 million with more than 13.59 million shares changing hands. Out of 29 traded stocks, 5 advanced, 13 declined and 11 remained unchanged. At the session close, Foreign Investors were net sellers for OMR295,000 worth of shares followed by the GCC & Arab investors for OMR165,000, while Omani investors were net buyers for OMR461,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index lost 0.42 per cent to close at 7050.04 points.There were no gainers on Tuesday. Gulf Investment services, Al Sharqiya Investment Holding, Al Madina Investment, National Bank of Oman and Bank Muscat were down by 4 per cent, 2.52per cent, 2 per cent, 1.13 per cent and 1.05 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index lost 0.26 per cent to close at 6055.33 points. There were no gainers on Tuesday. Al Maha Ceramics and GECS were down by 2.56 per cent and 0.91 per cent respectively.
Services Sector Index lost 0.19 per cent to close at 2,462.72 points. Phoenix Power, Muscat Ciy Desalination, OIFC and Al Jazeera Services were up by 3.33 per cent, 1.35 per cent, 0.9 per cent and 0.64 per cent respectively. OETI, Renaissance services, ONES, Sharqiya Desalination and Ooredoo were down by 2.7 per cent, 1.46 per cent, 0.64 per cent, 0.4 per cent and 0.38 per cent respectively.
