Al Marhoon stresses on competency development

Muscat: Sheikh Khalid bin Omar Al Marhoon, Minister of Civil Service met at his office with the first batch of participants in the national programme for government performance accelerators on Monday.
The meeting was organised in cooperation between the government sector and the private sector, which programme aimed to ensure involvement of the society in projects.
The Minister spoke on the role of the ministry of civil service in the field of administrative development and development of competency which aimed to accelerate the government performance.
The programme was launched in April 2018 and organised by the Ministry of Civil Service in cooperation with a number of government departments and the Institute of Public Administration, ITA, and with the support of a number of private sector establishments.
The programme has seen the participation of 52 personalities from the government and private sectors.
Innovative solutions
The programme also aimed to encourage government employees to adopt innovative solutions in accelerating the pace of offering services to customers and to employ digital solutions which accelerate and facilitate provision of services.
The meeting was attended by Sayyid Salim bin Masalam Al Busaidi, undersecretary of the Ministry of Civil Service for Administrative Development Affairs and a number of officials at the Ministry.
