Times Of Oman Inter-School Quiz Contest begins on April 10

Muscat: Are you a quiz wizard? Do you know everything under the sun? Are you brave enough to face our quiz masters and leave them impressed with your answers? If yes, then get ready for Oman’s much- awaited and most popular quiz contest.

The qualifying rounds of the Times of Oman Inter School Quiz Contest (TOOISQC) will begin on April 10.
Last year, TOOISQC saw participation of around 1,400 teams from 19 different local and international schools in Oman.
The first center for qualifying rounds will be Indian School Darsait followed by Indian School Muscat, Indian School Wadi Kabir, Indian School Ghubrah, Indian School Sohar, and Pakistan School Muscat on consecutive days.
Greycaps quiz masters Lloyd Saldanha and Bhavik Shah will be hosting the qualifying rounds.
“Here we go again, the 2016 edition of the Times of Oman School Quiz. It›s the first event of the year on the quizzing calendar for us and I believe that it›s the perfect way to begin quizzing,” said Lloyd.
“Last year the teams were outstanding and I don›t expect anything less in this edition. Students in Oman are always well prepared and have exuberance written all over them,” Lloyd noted.
According to Lloyd, they have upped the tempo and are looking forward to the teams working out not only their questions but also their clues.
The teams selected from the qualifying rounds from each center and the teams from schools with less than 15 teams which gain direct entry will appear for a mega prelims to be held at Indian School Ghubrah on April 19.
The top scoring 12 schools will be selected from the mega prelims to compete for the Essa Bin Mohammed Al Zadjali trophy, in both junior and senior categories, on April 21, 2016, at the City Amphitheatre.
The Times of Oman Inter School Quiz 2016 contest is powered by Creme 21. The major sponsors are Muscat Pharmary, Pocari Sweat, Denim, Al Mudhish, Suroor.
The co-sponsors are Kwality Ice Creams and Chiko. Official host is Radisson Blu Hotel, Sohar and the official rent-a-car is Sixt rent-a-car while Travel City-Travel Point is the travel partner. Venue sponsors are Oasis and Sapil.
