Oman's share index ends on a flat note

Muscat: The MSM30 Index ended on a flat note to close at 4596.105 points, marginally down by 0.05 per cent. MSM Sharia index closed at 656.60 points, up by 0.20 per cent. Al Madina Investment was the most active in terms of volume while Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of turnover. The top gainer of the day was Al Sharqiya Investment Holding, up by 2.54 per cent while Sharqiya Desalination down by 1.18 per cent was the top loser of the day.
A total number of 457 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR3.19 million with more than 18.7 million shares changing hands. Out of 38 traded stocks, 9 advanced, 6 declined and 23 remained unchanged. At the session close, Omani investors were net buyers for OMR1.48 million while Foreign investors were net sellers of OMR1.31 million followed by GCC & Arab investors for OMR174,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index down by 0.14 per cent to close at 7208.46 points, Al Sharqiya Investment, Gulf Investment Services, Al Madina Takaful and Al Anwar Holding gained by 2.54 per cent, 0.97 per cent, 0.96 per cent and 0.68 per cent respectively. Al Madina Investment, Muscat Finance, HSBC Bank Oman and Bank Muscat declined by 3.85 per cent, 2.22 per cent, 1.69 per cent and 0.52 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index ended the day’s session at 6082.65 points, up by 0.34 per cent. Galfar Engineering and Oman Flour Mills gained by 1.82 per cent and 1.58 per cent respectively.
Services Sector Index up by 0.12 per cent to close at 2,457.13 points. Al Jazeera Services and National Gas gained by 1.95 per cent and 0.83 per cent respectively. Sharqiyah Desalination was the only loser and was down by 29.9 per cent to close at OMR2.775.
